Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

PCIT is an intensive, evidenced-based treatment approach designed to address disruptive, oppositional behaviors in children and to promote prosocial behavior. PCIT helps parents and caregivers develop more effective parenting skills, including positive social discipline to meet the developmental needs and abilities of their children.  PCIT is effective in reducing parental and caregiver stress and improving the caregiver-child relationship.

Eligibility & Referral Information

Self-referral through Private Insurance Payment or referral by local DCP&P caseworkers with Special Approval Request Payment.

 

Program Components

  • Behavioral parent training and live coaching
  • Assessments including Parent Stress and Child behavior

Examples of Issues We Address

Disruptive, oppositional and aggressive behaviors in school, at home, with parents, siblings and peers.
