Services for Children
Children are our future. For them to thrive and succeed, they need safety and nurturance. Our services help parents understand and support each child's individual development and help kids understand and manage their own feelings and recognize and empathize with the feelings of others.
PrePARE (Preschool Psychological Assessment, Resources, and Education), delivers free on-site developmental screenings, play therapy, speech therapy, parent and caregiver training, and innovative evidence-based curricula to develop problem-solving, violence prevention, personal safety, and empathy. More than 300 children currently receive PrePARE services in four area preschools.
YouthConnections is a therapeutic after school program operating five days a week after school and all-day in the summer, providing counseling, behavior management, psychiatric services, and recreation for emotionally disturbed children aged 7-11.
Skills For Strength I & II is a continuum of services including Life Skills Training and the Strengthening Families Program for children and their families, delivered at our Main Office in Orange and on-site at afterschool programs operated by the Newark Public Schools Extended Day Program;
