Family Connections’ Culture Connections Training Center strengthens mental health and substance use services across northern New Jersey (Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, and Warren) counties by equipping mental health professionals and organizations with the skills needed to strengthen culturally competence, inclusive, and effective care.
The Training Center expands the capacity of agencies, self-help centers, and community wellness centers through:
Cultural competence training offered both on-site and virtual
Technical assistance and consultation tailored to organizational needs
Support in developing cultural proficiency plans that enhance long-term equity and responsiveness
Guidance to strengthen organizational cultural humility, ensuring services reflect and respect diverse communities they serve
Together, these resources help improve service quality, reduce disparities, and promote better mental health and substance use outcomes for individuals and families throughout the region.
